Ali B is facing another setback. The popular Dutch rapper has now been placed on the blacklist at Radio 538.
As the Grand Prix of Zandvoort approaches, the songs from the Radio 538 Top 1000 are revealed, but remarkably, not a single song by Ali B can be found on the list.
“In the 1000 songs revealed in preparation for the Grand Prix of Zandvoort, not a single song by Ali B is included,” shared Evert Santegoeds in the podcast Strikt Privé by De Telegraaf.
However, this is not due to a lack of votes for his songs. “This is no coincidence, as there are listeners who have voted for Ali B,” said Santegoeds.
“But 538 has decided to ban him from the station after his conviction,” Santegoeds explained in his podcast.
”In tegenstelling tot Marco Borsato is Ali B veroordeeld en wordt daarom niet meer zo vaak gedraaid. Maar dat gebeurt nog wel, zij het beperkt,”
De bron, Santegoeds, onthult dat dit een grote teleurstelling is voor Ali B. “Hij staat namelijk op de zwarte lijst van de zender.”
“Dit geeft aan hoe moeilijk het voor hem wordt in zijn carrière. Als je niet meer op de radio te horen bent… dan raak je in de vergetelheid.”
Een gevangenisstraf van twee jaar wegens verkrachting en poging tot verkrachting is de rapper opgelegd, maar hij heeft hoger beroep aangetekend tegen deze uitspraak.
